Let us help you inspire, mentor, and retain your new teachers

New Teacher Coaching Collaborative

The New Teacher Coaching Collaborative (NTCC) is a year-long, job-embedded dynamic coaching program supporting the unique needs of Texas’ new teachers. The NTCC is aligned to the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS). Coaches focus on the four domains of the T-TESS as they guide the teacher’s skill-building journey.

 Design of the Program

Our newest coaching program, the New Teacher Coaching Collaborative (NTCC), is a year-long, job-embedded dynamic coaching program supporting Texas teachers new to the profession. Following a pre-planned schedule of monthly 1:1 coaching sessions, trained instructional coaches provide support, advice, and capacity-building for teachers in their crucial first year of teaching. Between the coaching sessions, new teachers collaborate with peers and other building-based mentor staff to provide a consistent arena of practice and a constant source of feedback. STAAR MASTER® supports the collaborative with a curriculum of on-demand professional development resources aligned to the Texas Teacher Evaluation and Support System (T-TESS), which are introduced to the new teacher in consultation with their coach.

This is for teachers within the first three years of experience. This is the “make or break” time for new teachers.

This program combines monthly coaching and peer collaboration. New teachers not only get consistent access to mentor coaches, but they get valuable opportunities to talk to each other and compare experiences.

We provide a curriculum of professional development and “waypoint” webinars for the program. These give coaches a resource to further support their assigned teachers.

Our coaching collaborative is not found anywhere else. No one else is doing this.
